One year ago today, Kathy and Sean tied the knot! I was so happy to be a part of their wedding day. When they first asked me to photograph their wedding, I accepted knowing that this was truly going to be a one of a kind wedding. I’m lucky enough to have known Kathy since college, and that being said, I knew how much fun it would be. The Manor House at Prophecy Creek is just a gorgeous venue.

Kathy and Sean are truly best friends. Their wedding day showed how long their friendship and love had developed over the years. I loved being able to capture them smiling and laughing with just a look from one another. Their families shared in this joy with them throughout the day. I just wanted to remember their special day and be able to look at some of my favorite photos on here. A special thanks to Rachel Beck for helping me shoot this beautiful day!

Congratulations on year one and many many happy more to come! Love you guys!

Jason and Tara are getting married on Saturday!  I’m so excited to be able to be there for their big day!  When our first engagement photo session date got rained out, we rescheduled and the weather couldn’t have been more perfect!  We got to walk Brown’s Island and Libby Park.

When I heard their story, it was so awesome. He proposed on the beach, in the sand.  How amazing.  I can’t wait to be at their wedding on Saturday at the John Marshall in downtown Richmond.  It is sure to be a one of a kind day.

Tara and Jason, thank you for allowing me to document your love story!

With the passing of Memorial Day, it’s always a good reminder that everyday is, or should be, Memorial Day.  So many men and women proudly give of themselves, serving our country and some serve the ultimate sacrifice, by giving their lives.

I’m so thankful to live in America, and to know so many amazing people serving our country.  Did you take a Memorial Day photo this weekend?  I loved the memorial day wedding photo that went viral of the marine praying with bride-to-be.  Thank you – to all the men and women who proudly serve our country. I am ever in debt for your service.

I stopped on the side of the road on Sunday evening on my way home from a session to capture this photo for my 365 project.

Here’s to celebrating Memorial Day everyday!

When I first met Kacy and Gabby, I knew they were one of a kind. Completely laid back and ready to dive into their engagement photos. I remember leaving their engagement session and telling my husband, “They are just awesome, I can’t wait to be there for their wedding.”

Well, let me tell you… I couldn’t have been more excited to be there on their wedding day.  It was a gorgeous day at Diamond V Farm, and the people that surrounded them on their wedding day were no less than phenomenal. A barn wedding that couldn’t have been more perfect.  Lots of love went into this wedding from a gorgeous cake made by Gabby’s mother to amazing flowers by Careth Leining from Stems Flower Design. Start with a gorgeous couple, with love that’s grown over the years and add in some amazing family and friends, and there you have it – a wedding that didn’t skip a beat.

Deciding which photos to share in this blog post was no easy task.  I was lucky enough to shoot this wedding with one of my best friends, Nikki Morrow.  She flew in all the way from Arkansas to shoot this wedding with me, and that was just a true blessing.  We are so grateful to Kacy and Gabby for letting us be a small part of their wedding.
