Weddings, you guys… I love them. And this was a good one. Two of the most real, down to earth, caring people I’ve had the chance to photograph. I had the privilege of traveling up for this gorgeous New Jersey wedding. Dana and Jimmy were exactly how you would want any of your best friends to be on their wedding day – who they are. I enjoyed being able to spend time with them and their families for this amazing celebration. The people, colors, dress, details, love, joy, perfection of this day could not have been better. Did I mention that Dana’s dress was so inspiring and so very perfect for her? Truly. It was.

Dana and Jimmy were married at The Riverview Inn in Pennsville, New Jersey. A beautiful venue on the river that overlooks the Delaware Memorial Bridge. It was a perfect backdrop for some of the portraits we took.  I think that the best thing about how genuine this day was, is that I came up to New Jersey from Lynchburg, Virginia and didn’t know so many of these people. I knew Dana and Jimmy and a few other guests, but every single person at this wedding opened up and let me photograph them to help tell more of Dana and Jimmy’s story.

The day started off in a hotel in Swedesboro, New Jersey and ended up at The Riverview Inn. Dana was so calm all day and just gave out this immense feeling of effortless grace and beauty, a day that was everything it was meant to be. It was complimented by Jimmy (and all his groomsmens) sense of humor and relaxed vibes. There was such an intense sense of family at this wedding. One that brought tears to my eyes more than once. The way that Jimmy looks at her, the way she laughs. They are perfect. Dana and Jimmy – you are so amazing and I can’t wait to see what else life holds for you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for opening up your life to me. It was such an amazing experience to document your wedding.

A New Jersey Hometown Love Story

A Dream Wedding in Lynchburg

Today’s post is a bit overdue, but for good reason. I have been holding these images so close to me, I truly love them. Hand editing each one to bring it to life. To tell a story – their story. To give this beautiful couple memories of their wedding day. Being a part of Victoria and Christian’s wedding at West Manor Estate was nothing short of amazing. To be surrounded by such loving and gracious people is a true joy. Not a detail was missed and they were perfect.

Victoria’s dream wedding came to life with her own personal style on everything. It truly was a fairytale. This beautiful July wedding is one I will love for some time. Going through the images was such a delight. I truly feel like they tell a story. I’ve never had a gallery that had so many strong black and white conversions… and we all know I’m obsessed with black and white. They are dramatic and purposeful. Choosing images for this blog post was a task because everything was tied together so perfectly, it made it hard to select which images to show. Surrounded by family and friends with such a strong faith that had traveled from all over to celebrate their day with them. Her father walked her down the aisle and also married them. The mint dresses with deep purple accents was a gorgeous color palette to photograph.I honestly can’t say enough about how amazing everyone was.

Victoria and Christian – thank you from the bottom of my heart for trusting me with your day. Your love for each other is evident. Witnessing not only the joy you bring to each other but the joy you bring to your parents and family is incredible. I can only imagine your life’s journey together will be a true love story.

I was so happy to hear from Coco about a month ago. Recently engaged, recently graduated from Darden School of Business at UVa and preparing for a move to Atlanta! She and Chip had a lot going on, but they also wanted to get engagement photos done in the city where they fell in love. They met at The Virginian one evening and the rest is history. It’s so fun when I get together with couples who are so easy going and fun and open to anything. We visited the downtown mall, the gardens on grounds, The Lawn, The Virginian, and even the rooftop bar, Heirloom for some photos. They compliment each other so perfectly. The two of them together have a sincere charisma that made the time I spent with them simply fly by. It’s always fun to drive up for a Charlottesville engagement session. The entire time we spent together was filled with them complimenting each other and filling me in on a little more about their story. This is part of getting to know my couples that I truly enjoy. I have always loved meeting new people and getting a chance to photograph two people who have made a decision to commit to each other for life is such a blessing. It never tires me, it is never boring.

There was never a dull moment in this session. We managed to dodge the rain that was on the radar and ended up with some amazing photos that I know they will cherish for so many years to come. Engagement photographs are a wonderful way to spend time getting to know your photographer and break the ice in front of the camera. I can’t wait until I get to see them again and photograph their wedding next May in Charlottesville at Blenheim Vineyards. I know it will be one for the books! If you are looking for a Charlottesville wedding photographer, I would love to hear from you!

Let me start this off by saying how much it means to me when my amazing friends send couples my way. It builds an immediate sense of trust. I am so thankful to be blessed by such amazing people. Truly. I loved being able to meet up with these two for a fabulous Richmond engagement session.

When I first met Hannah in a facetime chat, we hit it off. When she described her wedding plans, I just knew I wanted to be a part of it. She is a designer herself and being able to collaborate with other creative people makes my job seem effortless. She had amazing ideas for what she wanted to her and Keith’s session to be and I adore the photos. Keith and Hannah are high school sweethearts and the ease at which they are together is almost mesmerizing. I felt right at home from the moment I knocked on their door for the session. We hopped in the car and went to a few different places around town. We went to the VMFA and then headed over to the tree lined streets of Monument Ave. It could not have been more perfect. I almost didn’t want the session to end. I am beyond excited for their October wedding at Linden Row Inn. I can’t wait to meet their families and friends! Hannah gave me a little insight to what a fun group of people will be at the wedding and I’m looking forward to it.

The best thing about these two gorgeous people is that they have their own vibe of beauty between them, it’s a fun loving confidence and I am so happy I get to photograph them again at their wedding. I love getting to know my couples and connecting with them to really bring out who they are. I always love traveling out to Richmond, it is just a beautiful place. So – here are just a few highlights of our fun afternoon!

This amazing marriage started on a Friday at the Washington D.C. Temple. Liz and I arrived a little early, to walk around and take some pictures of this amazing temple. The Temple is just gorgeous. D.C. can be such a busy area, but the Temple is tucked away a bit in a neighborhood where you get a really serene feeling.  When you first see it, it almost takes your breath away a bit and the gold steeples almost appear to be going right into the sky. It is truly beautiful. We waited outside with some family and friends for Victoria and Matthew to exit after their sealing. It was such an amazing experience and I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of it. It was a rainy and overcast April day but that didn’t stop us. Tori and Matt have such an amazing love and respect for each other. Tori is a student at BYU and Matt studied there as well. It was a love that grew out of a friendship, and they are most definitely best friends. Many family and friends traveled all the way from out west to be at their wedding on the east coast. After the sealing on Friday, we all traveled down south a bit to Williamsburg, where they had a ring ceremony and reception the following day. This was my first Williamsburg wedding and I loved being in the area. The ring ceremony was held at the Cheatam Annex Naval Base in Williamsburg. It was a perfect setting for a ceremony that overlooked the water. The sun decided to break through the clouds just as the ceremony ended and we were able to get some amazing backlit bridal party shots. Towards the end of the night, Tori’s dad built a bonfire and everyone gathered around to end the night next to the fire. It was a really intimate and perfect way to end the night and the images are some of my most favorite. A Williamsburg wedding done right, with family and friends and lots of love and laughter.

I hope you enjoy seeing a small glimpse into their wedding weekend. I sincerely love getting to know my couples and producing a story of their wedding for them. I have the most amazing job and I am so thankful for my clients and my work.
